Hello everyone. So as you probably know, today is my last day at Yuge High School. I've only been working in this school since September but in this short period I have really enjoyed my time here so I wanted to say a few words to you all today before I leave.
Over the past term we have enjoyed many events together. When I first came here, Sports Day was held. I was really impressed by everyone's hard-work and determination and even though no family members or spectators were allowed to come, everyone tried their hardest and it was truly amazing to watch. It was my first time ever to see the ōendan and I thought they were really quite spectacular. It was also for the first time in my life to watch people doing essassassaaa so that was an interesting experience too.
Then there was the Culture Festival in October where everyone showed off their various abilities. I was surprised to see some really excellent singers, dancers and musicians. I hope you continue to nurture these talents in the future and then maybe I will be able to see you on the T.V. some day.
During my time at Yuge High School I have been deeply touched by everyone's warmth and enthusiasm. All the students here are thoughtful, considerate and seem to have a genuine interest in the wider world.
I know it's not always easy to express your opinion but I have seen from your speeches and presentations that you all have brilliant ideas so my challenge to everyone is to share your ideas more in every class. I think that many third year students are already very good at this but first and second year students: Please raise your hands many times in class and share your thoughts because I know everyone wants to hear them. You are so lucky to have such incredible teachers, so please make the most of having them.
I hope you all stay healthy and keep going to school, even on Mondays. Actually to tell the truth, I'm not usually a huge fan of Mondays either but every week I have come to look forward to them as I’ve got to go to Yuge High School. You now have a lovely new Kamijima ALT, George so please show the same kindness and respect to him that you have shown to me.
This school has left a big impression on me and I will not forget the wonderful memories I have here. I wish you all the best of luck in the future.
